Child sponsorship enables you as an individual to personally invest in the life of an orphaned or needy child in Africa by making a long term financial commitment of $35 per month or $420 per year.

The child you sponsor receives the following benefits:

Education – A sponsored child will receive school fees, school uniforms and school supplies until they have completed their high school education.

Health Care – Sponsorship provides medical care for your sponsored child.  Because children die of simple diseases such as malaria every day, this basic healthcare can save lives at a small cost.  Asante also provides education to the families about hygiene and basic health for their children.

Family Support – While child sponsorship is aimed at helping the child, Asante also offers support to single or widowed mothers through our partner organizations.  The mothers are given an opportunity to learn a trade, such as goat rearing, sewing and farming.  We also provide HIV/AIDS counseling to mothers infected with HIV but who are still providing for their families.

Basic Necessities - In some cases, Asante provides basic necessities such as clothing and shoes, blankets and some basic toiletries.

Mentoring – Each child in Asante’s sponsorship program attends a Saturday children’s club.  Not only do they receive spiritual mentoring, but they have the opportunity to be involved in extracurricular activities such as singing, dancing and sports groups.  This in turn gives the child self worth and helps to develop their social skills.
